Designing for handymen feels surprisingly personal to me. I may be a graphic designer by trade, but I’m a crafty person at heart – I’ve dabbled in everything from woodwork and cement casting to fixing small things around the house. I can handle a lot on my own.

But not everything.

That’s when my Handyboys come to the rescue – yes, that’s actually the name of their business (a partnership of two wonderfully skilled guys). They’ve saved me more times than I can count: from roof leaks to misbehaving washing machines, storm-damaged outdoor wiring, dripping pipes, and even a mysteriously non-heating water heater. They’re always on time, respectful, efficient – and the relief I feel when they finish a job can’t be overstated.

So every time I create a new business card design for this profession, I think of them – and of all the professionals out there who show up for others during stressful moments. We don’t appreciate them enough. This is my small way of doing that – creating visual tools that match the reliability, skill, and no-fuss professionalism they bring to the job.

A good handyman card should say: “I know what I’m doing. And yes, I’ll show up.”

I’ve designed a wide range of handyman cards to suit different personalities and business styles — from clean and minimal to creative and bold. Most designs come with a suggested layout, sample service list, and placeholder contact info – so all you need to do is customize the details.
